Academic Careers

We encourage applications for academic positions in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Science Education, and in the interface areas between these disciplines.

Regular Positions: Candidates with outstanding research achievements who have completed a Ph. D. degree in one of these areas can apply for a regular position. It is desirable that the candidate has a few years of post-doctoral experience. Applications may be submitted to the Director, or any academic member who shares your academic interests.
Visiting Professor/Scientist: We run a visitors' programme that enables well-established scientists and mathematicians to spend periods ranging from a few weeks to a year for joint academic research with TIFR's regular staff. Contact the member of the academic staff closest to your academic interests.
Post-doctoral positions: Candidates with a recent Ph. D. degree and a good academic record can apply for a post-doctoral position. The position is for a period ranging from one to two years. Initial enquiries should be addressed to the person(s) closest to your area of interest.
Research Scholars: The Institute runs a Graduate Studies Programme for those wishing to work for a Ph. D. degree. Candidates with a Masters or Bachelors degree in science or a Bachelors degree in engineering can apply for the Graduate Studies Programme of the Institute.
