            Student Projects Available
  • Deciphering the phases of ISM contributing to [CII] emission at 158 micron: The project will involve analysis of [CII] data observed with Herschel Space Observatory. The [CII] spectra will have to be decomposed to identify the possible velocity components. Comparison of the [CII] data with other tracers of atomic and neutral phases of ISM will be done to understand the relative contribution of the different phases and their physical conditions.

  • Physics & Chemistry of High Mass Star Forming Cores: This project will involve setting up of a radiative transfer model to interpret emission from both dust and gas in high mass star forming cores. The model will be used to analyze data from Herschel Space Observatory with follow-up ground-based complementary observations.
