Location

TIFR is situated at the southern end of Mumbai city (in a locality known as Navy Nagar) and is ~ 4 kms from the down town area.

There are a large number of hotels in down town Mumbai. The rates of these hotels range from ~ Rs 17,500/- (for 5 star) to ~ Rs 5800/- for un-rated but clean and safe accommodation.

Please note that the current exchange rate is ~ Rs. 50 per US$ and it is hard to predict the rate in November 2009.
