This bulletin includes details of deadlines for registration, submission of abstracts, booking of accommodation. It also provides the Conference Programme news along with information of pre-conference programmes and some practical information about tours and excursions.

Conference Programme
The scientific programme of CHEP06 conference will consist of plenary sessions of invited oral presentations, a number of parallel sessions comprising oral and poster presentations, and an industrial exhibition. Organisers have already started to solicit contributions in the form of abstracts. Participants should use the Contributions button on the web page and submit the abstracts in the form of a text file online. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is October 31, 2005.

An abstract should be a concise summary (between 100 and 300 words) of the paper. It should describe the paper and include a statement of the issue, research methods and significant findings. Abstracts should be written as one continuous paragraph. Electronic submission of abstract does not allow a simple, straightforward system to use Greek symbols, superscripts or subscripts. Authors are encouraged to avoid them as far as possible. Authors are responsible to properly classify their abstracts in the respective tracks. The names of submitting authors are expected to make the oral/postal presentation and the respective names will appear first in the abstract brochure.

Pre-Conference Activities
There will be a 3-day workshop on LCG Computing Service Challenge between February 10 and February 12, 2006. This will take place within the same premises. This workshop will focus on final preparations for LCG Service Challenge 4, as well as the initial LHC Computing Service. The latter must be in operation by September 30, 2006, capable of handling the full target data rate between CERN and the Tier1 sites and incorporating all Tier2 sites.Interested participants should fill in the appropriate form from the Workshop web page and also indicate interest during filling up the pre-registration form in the main conference web site. The fees for this workshop is US$ 50.

There will be a 2-days school organised within the same premises during February 11 and February 12. This school will run in parallel with the Service Challenge Workshop and will follow some of the course outlines of CERN Computing School. It will cover topics on Software Techniques and Tools, Physics Computing and Grid Technologies. The fees for this school will be 1000 Indian Rupees.

Registration
Pre-registration started some time back and can be done either online or by downloading the pdf file from the registration page and sending the filled in form by fax to +91.22.2278.2345 (Standard Resolution Only). On submission of the registration form, the participant will receive an email with the submitted details and activation URL. The participant should visit this URL to activate the account. Once activated, a second email will be sent along with a personal identifier and an initial password. The participant can subsequently log in to his/her personal area using this from the registration page and modify the personal details.

The conference fee for early registration (up to December 15, 2005) is US$ 300. Pre-registration is possible even after December 15, 2005 but then the conference fee will be US$ 350. Participants can pay the conference fees either through credit card or using a banker's cheque payable to CHEP06. The participant will receive a pdf file by email (or can be downloaded from the personal area). The bankers cheque should be sent along with the completed pdf file to the organisers at the postal address provided on the website. If credit card option is chosen, the participant should complete the form (sent as a pdf file) and send it either by fax to +91.22.2278.2345 (Standard Resolution Only) or by email to chep06@tifr.res.in.

If participants are interested in the workshop or in the school, it should be indicated while filling up the form.

Accommodation
Arrangements have been made with some good hotels within a short distance from the conference venue. Some special rates have been negotiated for the conference delegates and indicated on the web site. Booking of accommodation will be done by the organisers with the participants specifying their hotel choice and other details by filling a form online. A pdf file will be created on filling up the option for hotel and will be sent to the participant. Alternately participants can download the form from the web. The hotel needs credit card number for surety. The participant is required to fill in the credit card detail and should send it to the organisers either through fax at number +91.22.2278.2345 (Standard Resolution Only) or by email to chep06@tifr.res.in. Please note that online request can be made by already registered participants after login. Each hotel provides a limited number of rooms and they will be distributed strictly on the first come basis. Reserving any room after December 15, 2005 will be very difficult, if not impossible.

Tours
Travel Corporation of India (TCI) has offered a set of four package tours for interested participants to CHEP06. The cost quoted refers to per person in a group with a minimum of 2 persons. This does not include the airfare which is separately mentioned in each of these packages. These are for
