Area Information, Mumbai City

Gateway of India, Mumbai

Welcome to Mumbai!

Tata Institute is located near the southern tip of the 'island city' of Mumbai. The campus is flanked on the west by the Arabian Sea. Being located in the midst of military and naval area, the campus and the residential complex are protected from the hustle and bustle characteristic of this mega city.

Mumbai has a lot to offer to a tourist. Luckily most of the tourist attractions and a range of hotel accommodations are also located in south Mumbai, as is this Institute campus and also the proposed accommodation for this workshop. Antique and curio shops, eateries, restaurants, ethnic dresses and handicrafts, historic sites, a museum, art galleries, centers of performing arts - these are all about 5 km from the campus.

The weather in Mumbai in February is pleasant.

Mumbai is on the web! You can find alongside some shortcut links to useful information in the site. The site has a lot more well organised information pertaining to Mumbai, both for the cyber-visitor and for the real visitor. The site is sponsored by the local Government's Tourism Department.
