The work in our laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular details underlying fundamental biological processes such as maintenance of genomic stability and replication stress arrest in mammalian cells as well as in Drosophila melanogaster. We also aim to decipher the cellular, physiological and metabolic adaptive processes employed by Chalmydomonas reinhardtii (a green algae).
The cellular basis of DNA damage response and replication stress arrest
We are studying crosstalk between DNA damage response, replication stress arrest, spatial genome organisation, cellular cycling and tissue homeostasis.
The areas of computational genomics of organellar genomes; biophysics of genome organisation and evolution of genome organisation are being explored.
