Academics and Research opportunities
We are India's leading biology research department where there are opportunities for students to work on various streams of biological and multidisciplinary sciences: molecular biology, cell biology, genomics and systems biology, neuroscience and biophysics.Our students conduct research under the supervision of their supervisor with an aim to engage them in the processes of intellectual inquiry, problem solving and creative thinking. The department imparts three degree course: Ph.D., Integrated Ph.D. and M.Sc.
Admission to these degree progrogrammes are through an enterance test conducted by TIFR in December each year, at various test centers in India. Details of the examination dates and how to apply can be found at the TIFR University Cell website.
Ph.D. degree
a 5-year degree programme for students who have completed their Masters' degree.
Integrated Ph.D. degree
a 6-year degree programme for students who have completed their Bachelors' degree.
M.Sc. degree
a 3-year degree programme for students who have completed their Bachelors' degree.
Other Research Positions
