Accelerator-based Condensed Matter Physics
We study solid state phenomenon at short length and time scales using high energy heavy-ion accelerator and hyperfine interactions as tools. Our focus is in studies of narrow band phenomenon especially, magnetism and Kondo interaction in dilute alloys, strongly correlated electron systems and nano-metals. We also do bandstructure calculations to support our experiments. Measurement of nuclear moments is another area of our current research activity. In future, we aim to apply our experimental tools to study exotic phenomena and new materials.
