10⁷ cold (T = 7µK), spin polarized Rubidium atoms are dropped on a 300 nm thick cobalt thin film (not visible in this movie made using fluorescence images taken with a CCD). The elastic reflection of the cold atoms from the magnetic film is clearly visible in the movie.
