Experimental Setup : Data Acquisition System

Pulses from PMTs are brought to the control room through low attenuation coaxial cables. Data Acquisition system is CAMAC based. Trigger is formed on coincidence of pulses from at least four telescopes. For each trigger, arrival time of Cherenkov shower front (accurate to ns) is recorded using TDCs. Charge information at each telescope is recorded using 12 bit ADCs. Absolute arrival time of event accurate to micro-s is recorded using Real Time Clock module synchonised with GPS. Telescope pulse profiles are recorded using waveform digitizer with sampling rate of 1 GS/s. As CAMAC is becoming obsolete, CAMAC system is supplemented with VME based system using same signal conditioning electronics and trigger logic.
