BUTI FOUNDATION AWARD - 2006

EXCELLENCE IN THEORETICAL PHYSICS,

ASTROPHYSICS AND BIOPHYSICS

The Indian Physics Association (IPA) invites nominations for Buti Foundation Award for the year 2006. Instituted this year, the award is given to a scientist who has made outstanding contributions in the area of Theoretical Physics, Astrophysics and Biophysics.

THE AWARD CONSISTS OF A CITATION, A GOLD MEDAL

AND A CASH AMOUNT OF RS. 25,000/-.

GUIDELINES FOR NOMINATIONS

· The nominee should be an Indian citizen, under 40 years, working in India.

· The nominee should have made significant overall contributions as a physicist/

biophysicist.

· Nominations can be made by

i) Any Life Member of the Indian Physics Association

ii) Head/Chairman of a Physics Department of an Indian University

iii) Head of any recognized research institution in India

iv) Head of an Industry in India catering to Research needs in

Physics / Physical Sciences / other related disciplines.

v) Executive Committee of IPA.

· Nominations may be sent on plain paper or through email.
