Personal Information
I am at theTata Institute of Fundamental Research
since 1982. My main fields of interest are low energy Anomalous Cosmic rays,
Ultra Heavy Cosmic rays using meteorite and lunar samples, X-ray black hole
binary, X-ray bursts, radio jets, high resolution gamma ray mapping, and
charged particle & X-ray detectors. I have participated in experiments
such as Anuradha that was flown on the NASA's
Space Shuttle in 1985, Gamma Ray Spectrometer on NASA's
Mars Observer mission launched in Sept. 1992, and Indian X-ray
Astronomy Experiment (IXAE) that was launched on IRS-P3 Indian Satellite
in 1996. Currently, I am also working on CZT hard X-ray intrument for ASTROSAT.
