Lattice QCD group

Who are we?

We are the lattice QCD group in the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). The group presently consists of Rajiv Gavai and Sourendu Gupta. Past members were Satchi Naik, Manu Mathur, Saumen Datta, S. Cheluvaraja and Pushan Majumdar.

What do we do?

We are interested in QCD at finite temperature and associated problems such as chiral fermions. More details of the work we are engaged in can be found in the page on our work. Alternatively you can view our recent publications.

What computing resources do we have?

Our present computational resources include 7 dual processor Compaq DS20 (667 MHz) machines which are shared with the rest of the institute. The load average on these machines during January 2002 was 0.75 per CPU. By April 2002 we expect to acquire 3 additional Compaq ES45 (1 GHz) machines.

Do we have positions available for lattice gauge theory?

Certainly. Regular positions are available. We would be happy to answer questions. For short term positions see the departmental information for post-doctoral applications or for graduate students.

What else is happenning in lattice gauge theory in India?

The Indian Lattice Gauge Theory Initiative has brought together all the lattice groups in the country.
