International Workshop onĀ Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Hall Systems

The quantum Hall effect is the mother of all topological phases in modern condensed matter physics. The new ideas generated from its investigation have led to topological insulators, quantum anomalous Hall effect, quantum spin Hall effect, topological superconductivity, and also topological particles, such as fractionally charged anyons, composite fermions and majorana fermions. The 6th meeting on "Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Hall Systems -6 (EPQHS6)" features exciting new developments on quantum Hall and other related topological systems.

The EPQHS-6 will be held during January 7-9, 2016 at the picturesque Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, commonly known as the Tata Institute), located in Mumbai, India. The previous EPQHS meetings were held at Taos (New Mexico), Penn State, Luca (Italy), Beijing, and Weizmann.
