As part of NuFact10 there will be a half day excursion to Elephanta Caves, on 23 October at 1500 hours after lunch.
The journey is by boat that can take only 120 persons. So if you wish to join then please give your name(s) at the Registration desk as early as possible, first come first served. The boat fare and entry fee to the monument will be paid by Organizers.
Just 10km from the busy commercial district of south Mumbai, is a 7th/8th century site of rock cut cave temples. It is on an island. UNESCO has declared it as a World Heritage Site. This Wikipedia link is a good source of information about the site.
The excursion will end with the return boat ride to Gateway of India, by sunset time. It will give a twilight view of Mumbai skyline and also the iconic Gateway of India and the Taj Hotel from sea.
