If you are
planning to use LAMPS for data acquisition and you have installed the PCI
interface card in your computer (see
How to Install.), you
need to install the software driver.
There
are different driver versions available according to the version of Linux you
are using. We support recent and new versions of Fedora Core Linux (and Red
Hat Linux).
If you are using a
Fedora Core version not listed here, use the nearest available version and
compile the driver.
For other versions
of Linux, download one of the drivers below and try to compile it after
ensuring that you installed the kernel source rpm from the appropriate
installation CD. For example for Scientific Linux 4 you should download the
driver for Fedora Core 2 and compile it.
The compiled driver is specific to the Linux kernel. For example,
the driver for Fedora Core 2 wont work in Fedora Core 3. If you compile the
driver yourself from the source code, it produces a driver file compatible
with your version of Linux.
After compiling
the driver, you have to install it. The instructions are to be found in README
files inside the downloaded tar-zip file.
