Homi Bhabha Birth Centenary Event

International Colloquium on Perspectives in Fundamental Research, to be held at TIFR, Mumbai during March 3-6, 2010, is a major highlight of the celebration of the birth centenary year of Dr. Homi J. Bhabha, who founded and nurtured the Institute for two decades as Director, until his sad accidental demise.

The Tata Institute has flourished as a premier institution engaged in research at the frontiers in various areas of science and mathematics. The Institute has also taken new initiatives over the years, launching into upcoming areas. The centenary of Dr. Bhabha serves as a fitting occasion to take an overview and to evolve perspectives for future developments, as a guide for further steps. This thought inspired the idea of organising of the International Colloquium on Perspectives in Fundamental Research, and many eminent scientists from around the world are invited to participate, keeping this objective in view.

The call has received enthusiastic response, and we look forward to a glimpse into the future of science through the endeavor.
