Gambhirgad is an isolated mountain amidst pristine forest
about 140 Km north-east of Mumbai. It is a steep uphill climb, with tricky
route-finding. The secluded wilderness has impressive rock formations and
pinnacles. No water, shelter or human habitation on the mountain. Danger from
wild bees and red ants. Occasional leopard sighting by villagers reported.
