Igatpuri Region,
Alone from Mumbai on
bike. To Kulang summit with village boy, Roidas
Mumbai
--> Bhandardara route --> Vasle Phata --> Ambewadi (7Km) -->
Kulangwadi/Kurungwadi (7km, BAD remote “road”)
Then,
hike to summit in 3 hours. Overnight stay in a cave. Descent in 3 hours to
Kurungwadi.
Return
Kurungwadi --> Bhavli (Bad, remote road) --> Igatpuri --> Mumbai
This
is a serious hike in a remote region
of the Sahyadri mountains. Exposed rocky path, difficult route finding.
Extremely steep and exhausting, take lots of water.
Reputed
to be the max height gain from base to summit in the Sahyadri’s. Fantastic
views of Madangad-Alang, Kalsubai, Ajoba, Malshej Ghat,
