Workshop group provides mechanical engineering support for payload integration to user scientists, particularly from the realm of Atmospheric science in terms of design and fabrication of suitable gondola for accommodating the scientific package, the flight support instrumentation and the ballast holding can, adequate thermal insulation and crash pads for absorption of landing shock.

The mechanical launch support is regularly being augmented to keep in pace with the growing demand of user scientists for launch of larger payloads and realization of higher altitudes.

Workshop has team of skilled technicians and machinery (CNC Milling Machine, Centre lathes, Power Shearing Machine, Pillar type drilling machine, power saw and power hand tools) to meet the requirements.
