Commemorative activities (already in progress)


  • Homi Bhabha Birth Centenary Public Lecture Series : Atleast one lecture is being hosted in one of the academic institutions or public places in Mumbai city and its suburbs.
  • An interactive chat session titled ‘Chai and Why’ held on the first Sunday of every month in Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, Mumbai.
  • Birth Centenary Expository Lectures by TIFR scientists in different colleges and institutions spread all over the country.
  • Series of Scientific Conferences in subjects of interest to the scientists in different campuses and field stations of TIFR. Some of these meetings have already been held, plans for many more are underway.

  • Inaugural function of International Centre of Theoretical Sciences, Bengaluru at I.I.Sc., December 28-30, 2009.
  • Initiation of second campus of TIFR at Hyderabad.
  • Revival of Annual Children Art Festival on TIFR campus. The revived first event was held on January 18, 2009, the next one shall be scheduled on Sunday, January 10, 2010.
