Anil K. and Bharati Bhatnagar Best Ph. D. Thesis Award in Solid State Physics :

From the year 2011, ‘IPA Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in Solid State Physics’ is being renamed as ‘IPA’s Anil K. and Bharati Bhatnagar Best Thesis Award in Solid State Physics’. The award is being supported by an endowment established by Prof. A. K. Bhatnagar, S. Chandrasekhar Chair Professor, University of Hyderabad.

The award is given annually to Indian students who have either submitted their thesis or awarded the Ph.D. degree within the calendar year before the annual DAE Nuclear Physics Symposium. The selection of the awardee is made by a panel of judges constituted by the Symposium Organizing Committee.

The award consists of a Citation and a cash amount of Rs. 2,000/-.
