NMR Meets Biology-III: An Interaction Week, September 3-8, 2017, Leipzig, Germany

Prof. Daniel Huseter, University of Leipzig, Germany, is organising an interaction meeting on NMR and Biology during September 3-8, 2017. The venue will be Wilhelm Ostwald Pard, close to Leipzig, Germany. The meeting will formally start on the evening of September 3 and end at noon on September 7. We are happy to have excellent scientists from both Germany and India participating in this meeting along with Beat Meier and Matthias Ernst from ETH, Zurich, Switzerland


This meeting is third of the series, NMR Meets Biology, the first of which was held in Goa in February 2014 and the second of which was held in Kerala in January 14019, 2016. The current meeting will consist of a series of seminar presentations covering NMR methods, applications to various biophysical systems, molecular dynamics simulations studies, protein expression aspects. X-ray crystallography, and dynamic nuclear polarisation.

The meeting will also have a tour to the Nietzsche Gedenkstaette in Roecken.

Meeting Goals

The interaction meeting will focus on the state-of-the-art solid- and solution-state NMR methods to tackle challenging issues in biology. The progress made with NMR on biological system, like membrane proteins, will be highlighted. The meeting will also highlight XRD/CryoEM/Molecular Dynamics applications to the study of biomolecular systems. The meeting also will have several brain-storming sessions on the future prospects, with respect to the methods and systems. There will be only oral presenations at the meeting. The number of participants will be limited to 30.
